Marci began painting with a paint set that had been given to her son as a gift. Without training, and having never painted before, Marci had the inspiration for Children of the Inner Light. She opened her first kiosk in a mall in 1997 with her artwork on t-shirts and greeting cards that she manufactured herself. Marci is married and has a son.

But they weren’t just our heroes, they became our friends. Each one had a backstory and personality a kid could relate to! A soft spot that made them somehow accessible. I think that’s why we loved them. And still do!"

I grew up with Dr. Seuss, just the name brings up great memories of well-worn books filled with laughter, imagination and important life lessons. And they’ve stood the test of time, my grandkids still love Thing 1 & Thing 2 and of course Horton & the Sneetches as much as I did back in the day. It’s a real honor to have my art linked to that sort of tradition.

Where is Margaritaville? It’s in the tropics somewhere between the Port of Indecision and Southeast of Disorder, but no parallels of latitude or longitude mark the spot exactly. You don’t have to be a navigator to get there. Palm trees provide the camouflage, ocean breezes bring the seaplanes and sailboats, tourists and travelers. Passports are not required. Island music rules. No waiting lines for anything. There is a beach and a thatched roof bar perched on the edge of the turquoise sea. There are lots of lies and loads of stories.
